ICNM Adventures: My Journey to the 2025 Conference
In 2024, I wrapped up a Portugal/Spain adventure with a couple of days in Barcelona where my husband and I had the opportunity to attend our first International Conference on Naturopathic & Integrative Medicine (ICNM) conference. It was a wonderful experience, with an international feel and interpreters in the back row translating speakers from English to French, making the event accessible to a diverse audience.
The (ICNM) is held annually in Europe during the first weekend of July, and brings together experts in the field to share the latest research, trends, and therapies in naturopathy and integrative medicine. In 2025, the 9th annual ICNM conference will take place in Paris from 4th to 6th July.
One of the highlights of the conference was hearing from American and Canadian naturopaths. Nasha Winters, an inspiring speaker who specialises in Integrative Oncology, left a lasting impression. Nasha has a powerful personal story of recovery from stage four ovarian cancer, and now, she helps others with similar diagnoses. Her extensive knowledge of Mistletoe therapy, combined with her work on the Metabolic Approach to Cancer, has made her a respected voice in the integrative health community.
Before heading to the airport to catch our flight home, I had a lovely conversation with Anne Marie, the president of ICNM. I thanked her for the conference and shared with her the incredible naturopathic and herbalist practitioners and speakers from Australia. She then grabbed my arm, and asked if I would consider becoming an ambassador for ICNM in Australia! After returning home, I signed the agreement and officially became an ICNM ambassador for 2025.
So far, one of the most enjoyable aspects of my role has been reading through the 70 conference abstracts and selecting 20 to help shape the 2025 conference program. I'm happy to share that both Nasha Winters and her partner, Steve Ottersberg (another highlight from this year's conference), will be presenting again in Paris.
